Drawing as Educational Exercise

Project Overview

This proposal seeks funding to allow deep integration of drawings into the learning, teaching, and research processes at two institutions. This proposal builds on significant prior work in Drawing To Learn: 1) strong research evidence for the value of drawing in the learning process and 2) significant work by the project team to integrate drawings into instruction, student assessment, and educational research. The role of EDLI in this work will be to help identify the affordances and barriers of various technologies in promoting this modality of instruction and developing curriculum to prepare faculty and students for engaging with those technologies and approaches.
